At the age of 15 way back in 1982 straight out of high school, PAULO CLEMENTE studied voice at the UP College of Music under the tutelage of Professor Corazon Teodoro, leading to his membership to the world-renowned U.P. Concert Chorus.

On the same year, he also joined musicals for Repertory Philippines such as “Sweeney Todd”, “Annie” and “The Visit” and also did a Filipino musical entitled “Teka, Ano’ng Nasa Pagitan Ng Puti At Pula?” (“Hey, What’s Between White & Red?”) under Bulwagang Gantimpala.

In 1983, he passed the rigorous auditions for TUX, an all-male college A Capella group which eventually created quite a stir in the entertainment industry and won numerous industry awards. Paulo’s Tux affiliation got him to experience working with some of the best artists and production people in the land.

PAULO CLEMENTE went solo in 1988 and specialized as a lounge singer, starting off as one of Kuh Ledesma’s choice soloists in the then newly-opened Music Museum. In 1989, he won the grand prize in the prestigious OPM-FE S. Panlilio Scholarship for professional singers.

Considering the artistic drought in the mainstream entertainment and the financial crisis during this time in the Philippines, PAULO CLEMENTE opted to be an independent artist and embraced the lounge circuit to further hone his craft.

A happy artist just being the toast of the bar and lounge circuit particularly in the prime entertainment district of Makati City, PAULO CLEMENTE, with his gift of gab, also did the “talking DJ” gig at Pulse Disco alternating with John Robinson while taking a break from his singing stint at the bar area. He must have been the most accomplished male lounge singer in the country in his time with over 2,000 nightly performances in hotels, bars and music lounges all over the metropolis from 1988 to 1995 (one for the Guinness? hehehehe). Among the establishments he performed in were Music Museum, Music Hall, Adlib Bar, Pulse Disco Lounge, Concourse Lounge and Altitude 49 at Manila Garden (now Dusit Hotel), Roxbury’s, Regine’s, Circus Circus, to name a few.

While singing at night, Paulo went into music, concert and events production during daytime, creating concepts and ideas which eventually benefitted his being an “indie”. He won two Awit Awards in 1994 as interpreter and album producer for the year’s “Best Jazz Vocal Recording” category. This was for the song “Limelight” (composed by Tux tenor Manny Aquino), a cut from his self-produced album released thru Ivory Records.

PAULO CLEMENTE also did the radio on Sundays from 1990–1992 as Segment Producer and DJ/Presenter for DZRJ’s “ OPM on Air” which served as the template for an “all-OPM repertoire” concept for FM stations and was doing hosting chores for special events such as “Nestea Splash” every summer. He also sat as Board Director and Treasurer of the Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (Organization of Filipino Singers or OPM ) for two consecutive years.

PAULO CLEMENTE was also a lucky to have had successful major shows during his “lounge” years. He headlined in concerts such as "Perfect Harmony" (Manila Midtown Ballroom with Odette Quesada and The Company; "Paulo… Solo!" at Rizal Stadium and Pulse Disco with Richard Merk; "Mr. Big Man at the Music Hall" with Teresa Loyzaga, "Voices and a Violin" with John Lesaca and Ella Mae Saison and "Color Brown" with Tots Tolentino, among others;

Shifting gears in 1996 from Entertainment to Corporate Communications, MR. PAULO CLEMENTE scaled the corporate ladder as First Manager in the Creative Writing, Scriptwriting, Audio and Visual Communications and Corporate Events Department of the country's top pre-need company. During this time, he could only accept weekend wedding gigs, which became quite regular such that people gave him the monicker "The Wedding Singer" long before Adam Chandler's hit movie; He also rediscovered his gift of gab from a previous FM radio stint in one wedding stint. Thus, "The Wedding Singer" tag became "The Wedding Singer and Event Host" in no time.

In 2002, opting for a more relaxed schedule to accommodate a growing clientele for weddings and special events, PAULO CLEMENTE left the nine-to-five grind and founded Angel's Wink Production which offers creative and consultation work for companies and organizations. The year 2002 also formalized his entry into the wedding industry with much over a hundred weddings attended yearly from then on.

Truly a uniquely accomplished performer and a celebrity in his own right, Mr. Paulo Clemente as your Performer and Host for your event is satisfaction guaranteed. With his expertise honed through years of exposure to top-of-the line quality entertainment and corporate production, he brings to your special day not just his talent but his keen eye for details that can only be acquired by a true-blue professional".
